depends on VIEWMEDIC OR systems

A long time has passed since the first hospital was established in Marburg by Saint Elisabeth nearly 800 years ago. Scientific medicine started in Marburg with the establishment of the worlds oldest Protestant University in 1527 by Landgraf Philip the Noble, and as early as 1788 one of Germanys oldest maternity hospitals was established here. At the end of the 19th century a range of new clinics and institutes were opened. One of these was opened by Emil von Behring who received the first Nobel Prize for Medicine in 1901 for his discovery of the healing serum for tetanus and diphtheria. In 2005 the Marburg University Clinic was merged with the Gießen University Clinic to form the Gießen and Marburg University Clinic; this was privatised in 2006 and the majority of the shares were taken over by Rhön Klinikum AG. |

As a result of the ongoing development of medical IT, the existing equipment in the central OP department with its original 13 operating theatres was no longer up to date. Therefore in 2004 a decision was taken to renew the systems. |
The use of this system aims to meet the requirements of 24 hour operation with protection against failure at environmental temperatures up to 40°C. |
|
By transferring the Womens and Childrens Clinic to the newly created Mother-Child Centre and the related expansion of the central operating area by 5 additional operating theatres in 2006, a need arose to purchase additional computer systems. A further nine VIEWMEDIC VARIO 19C systems found their way into the central operating department of the Universitätsklinikums Gießen und Marburg GmbH, Marburg location as a result of the unique, high performance and flexible VARIO CONCEPT. |

"The results and our experience to date with the VIEWMEDIC systems installed by the company Rein EDV have been extraordinarily good." |
Also the service and support after installation and approval were complete we can only grade as very good", stated deputy departmental manager for projects and organisation in Central Information Processing (CIP), Dr. Franz Büßecker. In addition, the great customer satisfaction from the various groups of employees who work in the central operating area is clear. |
