Quality and versatility
The third generation of VARIO panel PC is the perfect computer for medical use in hygienically sensitive environments. It stands out with a lot of convincing innovations, better hygenic properties and more optional features.
You can setup your VARIO system individually in accordance with your requirements. It is possible to choose from different display sizes, individual PC configuration and Thin Clients. Three models can be used as a basis for your system:
- The VARIO D provides medical displays
- The VARIO C is a display and a powerful PC
- The VARIO TC is equiped with different Thin Clients
New mainboard and processors
The third-generation VARIO includes a mainboard that is flexibly configurable. This can optionally be equipped with an Intel® Celeron™ (1,86 GHz) processor or, for more demanding applications, with the powerful Intel® Core™ 2 Duo (1,2 GHz) processor.
The new mainboard is based on the latest Intel technology and provides all necessary communications interfaces.
New housing design with hygenic glass touch keyboard
The housing was redesigned for the new product line and now offers even better hygienic properties, optimal ease of installation and maintenance, as well as a high degree of usability.
Protected behind the pane of glass are touch-sensitive sensors that allow you to control the functions of the device. This method of device operation is extremely practical, hygienic, completely non-wearing and naturally also works with surgical gloves.
Extensive testing ensures high level of safety
We submit our products to independent laboratories for testing in accordance with all required safety tests for a medical PC. This includes inter alia protection against dust and splash water. This allows easily disinfection without the possibility of damaging the equipment.
Our stringent tests guarantee a high level of safety and fully comply with the international standards IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60601-1-2.

Proper service equipment for the computer – the right fit for all your applications
The third-generation VARIO includes a mainboard that is flexibly configurable. This can optionally be equipped with an Intel® Celeron™ processor or, for more demanding applications, with the powerful Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor.
These processors are soldered, energy-saving and particularly heat resistant.
Even the main memory is scalable up to to 8 GB. The flexible configuration of the CPU, RAM, hard drive and other operations allows you to fit out each VARIO to suit your precise requirements.

Optional MEDIGENIC keyboard – hygenic and comfortable
The MEDIGENIC keyboard and mouse are smart infection-control input divices that helps monitor its own cleaning status to safeguard both patient and staff. The MEDIGENIC™ keyboard’s flat design assures the usabilty of common office input devices.
The MEDIGENIC keyboard and mouse are ideal for any environment where bacterial contamination or cleanliness may be a concern.
Thin Client
IGEL provides sophisticated and high compatible Thin Client technology for your IT
IGEL Technology stands for 20 years thin client competence and high quality thin client solutions „Made in Germany“. With IGEL thin client computing, the total cost of ownership (TCO) of the desktop environment can be cut by up to 70%. A substantial portion of this potential is due to powerful features of the IGEL Universal Management Suite, which comes standard with all IGEL Thin Clients.
VIEWMEDIC now offers the IGEL UD9 as a hygienically optimized thin client. To achieve this, the UD9 is completely integrated in the housing of a VARIO 322. The most common thin client in the medical field obtained by the VARIO a hygienically optimized housing.

Configure your IGEL Thin Client
It has a powerful and expandable hardware platform. It’s high speed processor and graphics can support demanding applications and many applications running simultaneously. The UD9 also offers upgradeability through various interfaces, including an PCI slot and an integrated Smart Card Reader.
Three firmware packages increase the functions of your UD9
Choose from one of the following packages:
- The firmware Entry provides standard protocols for server-based Windows applications.
- The firmware Standard also integrates various applications, provides a client for bandwidth optimized printing and supports virtual desktops and VPN.
- The high-end firmware Advanced lifts the thin client in areas that are normally dominated by desktop PCs. A comprehensive set of protocols, tools and clients is included. This allows the UD9 access to almost all applications, media types and peripherals.
Display
Available in three display sizes up to 22 inches
With resolutions with up to 1920 x 1080 pixels the VARIO system is the suitable divice for each application. You can choose from three different screen diagonals.
For the use of KIS or PACS- applications and Viewing applications the perfect choice ist the 19 inches or 22inches monitor.

COMMAND BAR for hygienic device operation

VARIO displays include a separate selection key for every signal input. This ensures fast access to signal sources.
Fitting video interfaces for each task
The many applications used in the hospital routine deliver images via a wide variety of signal paths. The provides a digital input (DVI-D) and an analogue input (VGA) for PC image sources, as well as extensive video inputs.
The extended videocontroller (available as an option) provides connection and loop options tailored to professional video applications, including a 3G/HD SDI interface (SMPTE 242M).
VARIO Touch
Edgeless touch design for optimal hygiene
A special advantage of the VARIO touch system is the planar surface without any edges. Since the devices can be thoroughly disinfected, this edgeless touchscreen operation is a particularly hygienic feature.
The touch option is currently available for all 19- and 21.3-inch VARIO modells and has a permeability to light of over 80%.
Features
IP65 protection
The device is fully protected according to IP65. This means that it is protected against the entry of dust, fluids and is also fully protected against accidental contact.
Hygienic coating
A specially developed, anti-microbial coating that is easy to clean ensures long-term protection and excellent hygiene properties.
Protective glass
A special optically anti-reflective glass protects the device panel and ensures IP65 compliant front-panel protection.
Self-contained cooling system
Thanks to the special design, dust and germs are never exchanged. The temperature of the system is regulated by means of a self-contained cooling system.

The innovativ glass touch keyboard allows you to control the functions of the device. This is extremely practical, hygienic, completely non-wearing and naturally also works with surgical gloves.
DICOM preset - for improved perception
The VIEWMEDIC display come with a correction curve, which is stored as DICOM preset and can be activated via the menu. The image quality is thereby noticeably improved.
Stabilised backlight
An integrated sensor continually measures brightness and readjusts it over time. This guarantees optimal image brightness at all times.
Multi-picture
The display is capable of PiP (picture in picture) and PoP (two images side by side). Images can be configured independently of one another (contrast, brightness, etc.)
User memory
User profiles can be created and freely named. The user’s image settings and multi-picture configurations can be stored.
IEC standards
The product meets the IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60601-1-2 standards and has been certified as compliant by independent test laboratories.
KVM extender
The optionally integrable KVM extender allows lengthening (max. 100 m) the cable of all operating elements, for example, the mouse and the keyboard.
